Cape Breton is popular with birders, not just for the large concentration of Bald Eagles, but for songbirds, hawks, owls, woodpeckers, gulls, sandpipers, ducks, and more Atlantic coastal species. Or take a Bird Island boat tour out to the nesting grounds of the Atlantic Puffin. (Puffins guaranteed!)  Watch majestic bald eagles soar overhead and see grey seals playing in the water.

If you love the outdoors you'll love it here. There's so much to do - from hiking and camping, to cycling, sea kayaking, fishing, whale-watching, rafting, sailing, and of course - golf. Located at the eastern edge of Nova Scotia, the Cape Breton Highlands National Park sits on a plateau which falls off into the Atlantic Ocean. A famous cyclist's route, the park is Mecca for mountain bikers in the summer and fall.
